The call for papers for the 18th International Conference on Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services (HPH) is now open until December 15th, 2009 at

The title of the conference 2010 is: “Tackling Causes and Consequences of Inequalities in Health: Contributions of Health Services and the HPH Network”

Main conference topics will be:

1. Which determinants of health inequalities can be successfully tackled by health and social services through health promotion?
2. What role can health and social services take in addressing inequalities in health across the life span?
3. How can health and social services contribute to reducing inequalities in the healthcare workforce?
4. Joint action for reducing causes and consequences of health inequalities: corporate social responsibility and beyond

In addition, it will be possible to submit papers on other issues of relevance to health promoting health services.

The 29th edition of the HOPE Exchange Programme will take place in 2010. This 4-week training period is targeting hospital and healthcare professionals with managerial responsibilities. They should be working in hospitals and healthcare facilities, adequately experienced in their profession with a minimum of three years of experience and have proficiency in the language that is accepted by the host country.

During their stay, HOPE Exchange Programme participants are discovering a different healthcare institution, a different healthcare system as well as other ways of working. Each year a different topic is associated to the programme.

The exchange programme 2010 will be closed by HOPE Agora - an evaluation meeting combined with a conference on the 2010 topic "The chronic patient: a clinical and managerial challenge".
